Does your backyard look a little empty these days? Have you been staring vacantly at the sun, trying to think of a fun family/friend project for everyone to get excited over? Do you have access to a 3D printer?
Then clearly, your next project should be building a Stargate.
The awesome employees of Belgium’s Musée royal de Mariemont partnered with Vigo Universal’s 3D-printing studio in order to build a full-sized replica of the famed Stargate for an exhibition titled “From Stargate to Comics: The Egyptian Gods in the geek culture.” According to Hermanns Christophe, the CEO of Vigo, the greatest difficulty was that there were no plans available to work from–the entire gate had to be designed from scratch, using photos and film for reference.
